THE STORY

Forty-five minutes from Calgary, down a couple of Alberta’s most scenic highways, lies the sweetest little shop – Bertie’s General Store. Housed in Black Diamond’s oldest original building, Bertie’s is full of historic ephemera and natural curiosities (bird skulls, butterfly wings, and owl pellets among them). The windows advertise “Vintage and Apothecary”. We frequented Bertie’s as a day-trip destination for years, before getting to know Isis Velkova-Andrus as a client – filling our pockets with salves that smell like the forest; adorning ourselves in well-worn plaid and paper-thin silk.

One of the founding partners at Bertie’s, Isis is also the sole proprietor of Tender Living Farm. She fills the shelves on the apothecary side of the shop with handcrafted teas, tinctures, and bath soaks. She forages or grows most of her ingredients and ethically sources the rest. We’ve long admired the knowledge and craftsmanship she brings to her work – both in the products she makes and the relationships she nurtures along the way.

We designed a robust family of badges and icons in support of the primary logo. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Mauris sagittis odio eros, quis pretium sapien suscipit a. Donec hendrerit facilisis augue. Integer varius nisi eu elit laoreet lacinia.

“Working with Feast has been a dream come true. We employed them to aid us in developing a brand identity which translated into illustrations and designs we can use for practical purposes for goods made in house, but also custom merch we now sell. Family run and in business for 40 years meant we had a lot of story and sentimental imagery, but also not focused and concise which made doing anything related to packaging, a total nightmare. Their patience and capacity to understand who we are and how we want to be portrayed was fine tuned and very much appreciated. The level of detail and care they maintained through to the end is impressive and will certainly have me recommending them for years to come. Tasks that used to be painful, are now one of the best parts of the job.”
