THE STORY

Pacific Rim Tonewoods needed to strengthen and update their brand in order to establish themselves as the leading purveyor of science-driven, sound-superior, sustainably-sourced tonewoods. They came to us seeking a logo that would reflect both the “Craftsman” and “Scientist” personas that characterize their work – grounded, innovative, diligent, and precise.

The logo we developed for Pacific Rim Tonewoods represents their work on both a macro and a micro scale. The forest speaks to their commitment to sourcing and propagating trees sustainably, while also implying the six strings of a guitar and surrounding sound hole – offering a clear sense of PRT’s final product: sound superior tone wood, ready for a luthier, and eventually a musician’s hands. We sought to encompass all of this in a way that felt inventive and clever, while making an elegant, elevated impression.
